LEGAL SERVICES (RESEARCH) AGREEMENT REQUEST

The following research agreements can be submitted:
Amendment: An agreement that changes or amends an existing/prime agreement. This may include time extensions, additional work/funds, etc.
Confidential Disclosure Agreement (CDA)/Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA): An agreement to preserve the confidentiality of certain information. Usually, to facilitate discussion of potential research collaborations. Note - No work is performed/delivered under an NDA. If you are ready to start collaborations, you will need a Research Contract/Grant to proceed
Research Contract/Grant: Typically, industry or other funders/collaborators looking to support a research project at the University of Calgary. Terms may include confidentiality, ownership/use of results, publication process, etc.
Data Transfer Agreement/Data Sharing Agreement: An agreement in which data is being exchanged with a ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ researcher (incoming/outgoing). If any funds are involved, they are usually transfer and/or shipment costs
Material Transfer Agreement: An agreement in which ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Researcher is either receiving or sending materials (e.g. cell lines, mice, chemical samples, etc). If any funds are involved, they are usually for shipping costs
Service Agreement (ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ being hired): An agreement where a ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Researcher is being hired to perform a service for an external party. E.g. ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ testing equipment/samples for an external party
Service Agreement (ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ hiring): An agreement where an external party is being hired by ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ to perform a service; ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ is procuring the service. Please note that if this service is not a research collaboration with the external party, you will have to contact Supply Chain Management, as this agreement will not be processed by Legal Services (Research)
Subcontract: A research agreement for incoming funds when a ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ PI is collaborating with an external partner who is transferring funds and funding terms to ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳. The same idea will apply for outgoing funds to an external researcher who is collaborating with the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ PI
Other: any other forms of research documents that do not fall into the above categories. E.g. Memorandums of Understanding, Letter of Intent, etc.
